Ghana goal poacher turned defender, Nicholas Gyan assisted in Simba Sporting Club win today over Mbeya City at the Sokoine Stadium.
The centre back saw full-time action after being sidelined by head coach Patrick Aussem in the last five games of the Msimbadzi Reds in the Tanzania Premier League.
Gyan was exceptional today as he gave Jonas Mkude the opportunity to restore parity for the visitors with his sublime free-kick after Iddy Suleman has sent the home side to the lead with his perfect strike in the 22nd minutes.
The Ghana international whacked in the air a sublime free-kick from the right side of the attack just close to the opponent eighteen yard box where Mkude headed the ball to restore parity.
Gyan continued with his incessive and accurate crosses but Meddie Kagere and Jonas Mkude failed to utilize the chances created by the former Ebusua Dwarfs player.
Finally, in-form Meddie Kagere had the winner in the 85th minutes to secure his side the second spot on the league log with 75 points just five away from league leaders Young Africans.
Nicholas Gyan had a blistering performance today whiles countrymen James Kotei was an unused substitute with Akwasi Asante out of the eighteen member squad for the game.
