Armed men attacked a peaceful community of Hapan in the Birkin Raddy Government District of Plateau State, Nigeria, resulting in the tragic loss of 17 innocent lives.
The devastating event occurred early Thursday morning and left the community in deep shock and grief. A grieving community guardian, Julius Pam, confirmed the attack in Jos on Thursday.
“Early this morning, there was an attack in Kuropan Township. A total of 17 people were killed, including my brother, his wife and children,” Pam said. A spokesman for the Highlands Police Command, Arabo Alfred, could not be reached for comment, but a command official said security forces had been deployed to the area.

Meanwhile, Plateau Governor Caleb Mutphan has opened a safety and information center. The aim is to improve public access, to convey safety-related information to the appropriate authorities, and to enable them to act quickly.
