Veteran American actor Bill Cobbs, who starred in the successful movies The Bodyguard and Night at the Museum, passed away at the age of 90, according to his representative.
According to his agent, Chuck I. Jones, the actor passed away on Tuesday night in the Inland Empire of California, surrounded by his loved ones, the PA news agency reported. Throughout his career, Cobbs was trusted with small but pivotal roles, featuring in 200 film and TV credits.
Cobbs gained notoriety for his roles as security guard Reggie in the 2006 comedy Night at the Museum, starring Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller, and Robin Williams, and as Whitney Houston’s manager Bill Devaney in the 1992 hit The Bodyguard, starring Kevin Costner.
The Hudsucker Proxy, a film by the Coen brothers, starring Moses the Clock Man as Coach Arthur Chaney, and Sunshine State, starring John Sayles as Dr. Elton Lloyd, are among the other beloved roles.
His TV credits included appearing on The Sopranos, The West Wing, Sesame Street, and Good Times.
