Founder and flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party, Madam Akua Donkor has said she will not allow members of the Jehovah Witness Church to serve in government when she becomes the president of Ghana.
According to Akua Donkor, she doesn’t see the reason why Jehovah Witnesses should be holding public positions or be working in a certain government when their religious principles do not permit them to vote during elections.

Speaking to Kofi Adomah, Akua Donkor stated that she will rather permit Jehovah Witnesses to work in the private sector by engaging in private activities like trading and farming than working in the government.
“When I become president, no member from the Jehovah’s Witnesses will be allowed to have government work, you don’t want to vote, who should vote for you to go and work at the government office,” she questioned.

“All members of the Jehovah’s Witness will go to the market and trade.”
Madam Akua Donkor is among the candidate vying for the presidential seat in the 2020 December polls after being disqualified by the Electoral Commission from contesting in the 2016 general elections.
