The Normalization Committee has agreed in a meeting to give Kumasi Asante Kotoko 40% of the gate proceeds from their Special Competition semi-final clash against Accra Hearts of Oak, Kyfilla.com can report.
According to a copper-bottom source, the Normalization Committee in a meeting has agreed to add 10% of their share from the gate proceeds to Asante Kotoko’s 30%.
The Porcupine Warriors petitioned the Normalization Committee to choose a neutral ground for their semi-final duel against arch rival Hearts of Oak instead of the Accra Sports Stadium or better still give them 40% of the gate proceeds instead of the 30%.
The Normalization Committee in a statement, declined Asante Kotoko the 10% top up and insisted Accra Sports Stadium remains the venue for the cracker scheduled for June 16, 2019.
Kotoko finally withdrew from the Special Competition tier one after the Normalization Committee denial, issuing a statement to confirm the decision.
But the Normalization Committee upon a second look at the Asante Kotoko request, has agreed to give the Porcupines the 40% gate proceeds with Accra Sports Stadium affirmed as the venue for the titanic encounter.
The Normalization Committee per the source, has communicated their decision to the management of the Kumasi based side and will soon issued a statement to rescind their decision of withdrawing from the competition.
Meanwhile, Obuasi Ashantigold Sporting Club will also face off Karela United in the second semi-final duel where the winner will face either Kumasi Asante Kotoko or Accra Hearts of Oak in the finals.
