Highly-respected member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Kwabena Duffuor has said nothing can stop him from his “Ahotor Project”.[ads2]
This comes after the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah criticised him for not involving the leadership of the party in activities under the project.
At a media interaction on August 29, Mr Asiedu Nketiah highly chastised the former Bank of Ghana governor for organising a donation under the Ahotor Project in the Ashanti Region without the knowledge of the leadership of the party.[ads3]
“We just picked information from Kumasi that Dr. Duffuor is going to distribute some equipment in some constituencies, and we feel very betrayed. It is not a bad thing if a former Minister wants to support the party, but there is a process you go through. He is not the first to donate to this party.”
“We feel we have been misled into receiving the donation. If Dr. Duffuor intends to make a genuine donation to the party, he should pass through the proper channels”, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah said during the media interaction.[ads4]
Responding to this, Dr Kwabena Duffuor who is said to have ambitions of leading the party in the 2024 elections as flagbearer, believes he is focused on equipping the party through the Ahotor Project to enable the party win power from the hands of the NPP.
“No amount of insults and attacks will stop me from doing what I want to do. Nothing at all. I am not the talking type. That’s not my nature. I just want to help to strengthen the party. Let’s get together and help one other”, Dr Duffuor said as quoted by citionline.
The Ahotor Project was relaunched in June, 2022 with NDC executives in each constituency to receive accessories, logistics, and equipment worth GH¢30,000 to enable them run their administrations smoothly.[ads5]
