In a show of support and recognition, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has commended to Takoradi Technical University for its inaugural Annual Sports Awards.
This was contained in a fraternal message conveyed through Mr. Henry Asante Twum, the Director of Communications of Ghana’s football governing body.
“With keen interest and enthusiasm, the GFA has closely monitored the progress of TTU Stars, the university’s sports teams, and wish to commend the leadership of the University for its commitment to give platforms for the nurturing sports talents and encouraging excellence at all levels of sports, especially within the academic community”, Mr. Asante stated.
“The GFA’s endorsement of the Takoradi Technical University Annual Sports Awards reflects our mandate, which extends beyond professional leagues to encompass the development of college and University football as well”, the FA Spokesperson said in his statement.

According to Mr. Asante said “the GFA is ready to collaborate with Takoradi Technical University in providing expertise and resources, to ensure that emerging talents receive the guidance and opportunities they need to excel on the field.
The message was full of praise for the leadership of the University, whiles acknowledging the significance of the University’s participation in the Western Regional Division II competition.

The maiden awards took place at the University Auditorium in Takoradi, honored over thirty sportsmen and women.
The Ultimate award ‘Sports Personality of the Year went to Ramond French, and Joshua Owusu Debrah was adjudged the Footballer of the Year.
