The Chief Executive Officer for Ghana Premier League side Berekum Chelsea, Obed Nketiah has been slapped with two matches home ban by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association.
Obed Nketiah was handed this punishment after a misconduct in his side game against Dreams FC in Match day Two of the Ghana Premier League in Berekum.
The ban-roller for the Golden City lads was charged for threatening referee Nuhu Liman in the recess of the game “that if your team [Berekum Chelsea] does not win the match by the close of the day, the referee will see worse things happening to him than what he saw in the match between Arsenals FC and Liberty Professionals FC last season.”
This conduct from the CEO has been considered by the DC to be violation of “Article 35[1b], 35[7] of the Ghana Football Association General Regulations and Article 56 of the GFA Disciplinary Code”.
However, the CEO in addition to his home matches ban, has also been warned ” to be of good behavior”
Berekum Chelsea and the Dreams FC clash ended in a stalemate with referee Nuhu Liman rushed to the hospital after being assaulted.The Golden City lads were then banned three matches
