Ghanaian midfield dynamo, James Kotei has completed a three-year deal with South African side Kaizer Chiefs, Kyfilla.com can exclusively confirm.
The former Liberty Professionals enforcer signed the deal with the South African side after a successful medicals.
The 25-year old joined Amakhosi on a free transfer after stints with Tanzania Premier League outfit, Simba Sporting Club expired.
Kaizer Chiefs announced the signing of the Ghanaian international after he put pen to paper on a three-year deal.
“Kaizer Chiefs have signed James Agyekum Kotei on a three-year contract. The 25-year old defensive midfielder hails from Ghana. He joined Amakhosi from Simba Sport Club in the Tanzanian Premier League.”
Kotei joined Simba Sporting Club on a two and half years deal in 2016 from Al-Orouba and has been phenomenal since his inclusion into the Msimbadzi Reds.
He helped Simba Sporting Club to win the Tanzania Premier League title in the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 respectively and also won the 2017 FA Cup.
In the 2018/2019 CAF Champions League where Simba SC reached the quarter finals stage for the first time in the history of the club , Kotei was the pivot in midfield for Simba SC which catch the attention of the technical team of Kaizer Chiefs.
He was voted the Best midfielder at Simba SC during the 2019 edition of the MO Simba Awards.
Kotei is expected to used his vast experience in the African game to propel Kaizer Chiefs to greater heights in the 2019/2020 Absa Premier league.
Kotei previously played in Ghana for Dansoman based Liberty Professionals and also Division One side B.A Utd before joining Al-Orouba in Oman.
