Kumasi based Ofori Academy Foundation have been crowned champions of the Baby Jet U16 Africa Championship after beating Cheetah FC in the finals.
Ofori Academy Foundation beat tournament-favorite Cheetah FC 3-2 in the final game of the second edition of the tournament, held at the Asamoah Gyan Sports Complex in Accra.

The much anticipated tournament came to an end after seven days exciting and fascinating moment of soccer action, which saw youth team across West Africa competing against each other.
Ofori Williams had the opener for the Kumasi based side in the 25th minute to end the first half of the game.
Cheetah FC who had their ambassador and popular Ghaianaian artiste Kofi Kinaata present, came back stronger from the break to a scintillating showdown.
Suleman Rahim snatched parity for Cheetah FC in the 67th minute with a powerful header which the goalkeeper of Ofori Academy tried all his effort but couldn’t stop the ball from entering the net.

Ofori Academy Foundation came closer to get the second goal but there was timely intervention by Abdul Rahim of Cheetah FC.
Four minutes later, Ofori Academy Foundation had the second goal and went ahead to make it 3-1 before John Batigi made it 3-2 for Cheetah FC on the 89th minute, but it was too late as the eventual winners defended gallantly till the blast of the final whistle.
Ofori Academy Foundation lifted the giant trophy for the very first time alongside other prizes.
Sixteen clubs across West African participated in this year’s tournament.
The overall best players of the tournament went to Williams Owusu of Ofori Academy Foundation whiles Cheetah FC goal poacher Bty Gideon had the golden boot award.
The Baby jet Africa under tournament offers the young talented players the opportunity to Showcas their skills and talents to top scouts, coaches, agents and representatives of foreign clubs. And also to give unsigned players to earn professional contract with foreign clubs.
The Baby Jet Under 16 tournament is organized by Goldstar Consult LTD, with support from Ashfoam, Asamoah Gyan Foundation and Baby Jet Promotion.
