Accra Great Olympics have placed a court injunction on the start of the 2017/2018 Ghana Premier League Season as the seek justice from an Accra High Court.
The Greater Accra based club feel they were unlawfully relegated as they believe they should have won a case they lost against Bechem United.
Olympics alleged that Bechem United fielded an unqualified player when the two sides met in the league last season and the rules must be applied.
“On the 25th January we informed the GFA that Bechem United featured an unqualified player during the clash last season. We want GFA to ascertain the veracity of truth in that matter and after then we can decide to play in the Division One League. But if it turns out to be true they must apply the rules in accordance with their statute,” Oloboi Commodore told Asempa FM.
“Since 25th October 2017, we have alerted the GFA of our impending court action and we have given them enough time. So the threat must be followed so that the court will compel them to apply their own rules.”
The Ghana Premier League was scheduled to start on February 11 but could be postponed to a different date until the case is settled.
