Otto Addo, the head coach of Ghana, has no trouble going up against Mali because he has a flawless strategy for the Black Stars to defeat Mali in Thursday’s FIFA World Cup qualifying match.
Before the pivotal away game in Bamako, Addo acknowledged the nature of the match but expressed confidence that he and his boys would find a way to defeat the Eagles.
The Blackstars and their counterpart from West Africa will face off in a match that the Ghanaians must win. Mali are currently ranked eighth on the continent.
The Black Stars are currently one point behind Mali and three behind leaders Comoros after two qualifying matches.
Otoo Addo, though, is confident he has the ideal strategy to see the Black Stars triumph.
“We have a plan. How we want to play. We have observed them well. Of course, most of their players play in Ligue 1. We have our ideas but of course, we cannot tell them,” Addo said at a pre-match press conference, as quoted by 3Sports.
“It’s a very important match for us. We are one point behind Mali and we have to win to give us a chance of qualifying for the World Cup. Mali are a strong team. They have young talent in their team and it will be a tough game for us.”
Meanwhile, the Black Stars won against Madagascar but suffered a disappointing defeat to Comoros last November. On the other hand, after drawing with CAR and defeating Chad in Group I of the CAF World Cup qualifiers, Mali remains unbeaten.
Ghana’s chances of going to the next World Cup in the USA, Mexico, or Canada will be enhanced if they win their next two qualifying games.
