Charles Taylor, a former Ghanaian international, has voiced his opposition to Otto Addo being the Black Stars’ next coach.
This comes after several rumors circulating that the Ghana Football Association is leaning toward selecting Otto Addo, a talent coach at Borussia Dortmund, to be the head coach of the national team.
Following Chris Hughton’s departure due to the Black Stars’ subpar performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, a five-member committee has been tasked with recommending a coach for the Executive Council.
Otto Addo is one of the more than 500 applications for the vacant Black Stars job.
Taylor, though, thinks Addo is unproductive for the team. The former striker for Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak claims that Addo did not help the team during his initial appointment.
“Nothing good will come from Otto Addo. He has coached the team before, and there is nothing positive you could pinpoint from his first stint.” he stated.
“Does that mean we should consider all past coaches who qualified us for the World Cup?” he rhetorically asked.
