Former GFA Board Member Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has reiterated his desire for Ghana Black Stars coach Otto Addo to widen his horizon to all the league venues in Ghana to scout quality players for the Black Stars.
This urgency call came after the coach gave Benjamin Asare his debut as Black Stars goalie. The only local player fielded in Ghana’s two wins in World Cup qualifiers. Asare proved and exhibited the reason why the former football administrator is calling for inclusion of more local players and the coach can only identify quality player if he is able to scout nationwide.
In an interview in Graphic Sports, Mr. Tamakloe said,
“If the coach limits his visits only to Accra and Kumasi stadia, he might not spot the required talents. He [Otto Addo] must spread his tentacles by visiting every nook and cranny of the country to identify promising players.”
Black Stars are now top of the table in Group I World Cup qualifiers. They beat Chad 5-0, and Madagascar 3-0 to boost their chances of qualifying for consecutive World Cup appearance.
