Bechem United goal poacher Wontah Hafiz Konkoni has said his outfit target is to win this season’s Ghana Premier League title.
Withe five matches to end the season, the Bechem-based club currently sit second on the league log with 48 points, just three points to catch up with league leaders Aduana Stars FC.
Bechem United are currently facing stiffer competition from not only Aduana Stars but Medeama Sporting Club as well who are third on the league table with 47 points.
Despite the competition that Bechem United is facing, Hafiz Konkoni believes with hard work and determination, his outfit can win the 2022/23 league title.
“Our target is to win the league. We came very close last season and therefore want to win it this season”, Hafiz Konkoni told Womtumi Radio/TV in an interview on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.
“It’s our target to make history with Bechem United by winning the league for our supporters and the entire community. It’s only three points separating us and Aduana Stars and I think we stand a very good chance of winning the league trophy for the first time”, he added.
Asked whether he want to win the topscorer award, Hafiz Konkoni who is leading the goal king chart said, “my priority is to help Bechem United to win the league but I will be excited if I win the goal king for the first time.”

Hafiz Konkoni is currently leading the goal king chart with 14 goals after 29 matches with two goals away from Mizack Afriyie and Sampson Eduku of Berekum Chelsea and Tamale City FC respectively.
The likes of Issah Kuka of Real Tamale United, Abednego Tetteh of Bibiani Goldstars and Steven Mukwala Desse of Asante Kotoko are also in the race for the goal king gong with 11 goals each.
