Samuel Dubik Mahama, the Managing Director of Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has disclosed that the company has so far been able to retrieve over Gh¢2billion from its debtors.
This comes following the company’s nationwide debt collection exercise purported to generate revenue.

The exercise which started from Monday, March 20 and will end on Thursday, April 20, 2023 had seen the company disconnecting power to some major institutions and organizations in the country.
In an interview on Peace FM in Accra, Mr Dubik Mahama indicated that electricity users including government organizations owe the company a whopping sum of 5.7 billion cedis.
He then added that, “Right now, we have collected [almost] above 2 billion. We are not done yet.”
