Passion Air, a new indegenous carrier who have started operations in three domestic cities in Ghana, Accra, Kumasi and Tamale are to start operations in Takoradi.
The new airline have joined Africa World Airlines as the second operator in Ghana’s domestic aviation industry.
Passion Air is a Ghanaian airline that started scheduling domestic operations in Ghana in mid August 2018 and would officially start operations in Takoradi on 10th December,2018.
This ends the monopoly currently being enjoyed by Africa World Airlines (AWA) the only domestic airline servicing the Accra- Kumasi- Accra, Accra- Takoradi- Accra and the Accra- Tamale- Accra routes since Starbow Airlines exited the market.
Passion Air, has taken delivery of it’s first 78 seator aircraft, Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 which paves way for the airline to begin domestic operations.
In his speech during the inaugural ceremony held at the Takoradi Airforce Base, Mr. Donald Idi Maswuare who is the Chief of Operations for Passion Air noted that his outfit are planning for reaching out to the various regions and also hope to forward the benefit of operating to the development of the region.
” This inauguration marks another milestone in our grand strategy to provide aviation in Ghana and this is our third route.
“We promised to bring in three aircrafts to our three main destinations and truly we’re happy to achieve that feat.
” We’re planning of going through all the regions and hope to forward the benefit of operating this feat to the development of the communities.
He however assured the people of the Western region that, Passion Air would bring consistent, punctual and practical schedules to meet the standard and the required connectivity.
The Deputy Minister for Aviation who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Takoradi Constituency, Honorable Kobby Okyere Darko commended Passion Air for their vigorous support in the aviation sector and however prompted the leadership of the airline to corporate with stakeholders in making Ghana the gateway in aircraft.
“Passion Air promised in August during their first launching in Kumasi to open another route in Ghana and truly have arrive decided to open a new route in Takoradi.
” We commend Passion Air for operating another route in Ghana and I hope they will corporate with all stakeholders in making Ghana the gateway of aircraft.
Kyfilla.com understands, Passion Air would officially start operations in Takoradi on 10th December,2018 with two flight daily excluding Sunday with ticket going for GHS 270 one way and GHS 477 for round trip.
