The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has congratulated Asante Kotoko for making history with their victory against Coton Sport de Garoura in the CAF Confederation Cup yesterday.
Kotoko qualified to the group stages of the competition for the first time since 2008 at the expense of Coton Sport via 5:3 on aggregates.
The team have been tied at the group C of the competition together with Zambian sides ZESCO United and Nkana FC as well as Sudanese giant Al Hilal.
Coach C.K Akonnor and his charges will open their group stage campaign against Al Hilal on February 3 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
However, PFAG has the mother body of professional footballers in the country has congratulated the Porcupine Warriors for making Ghana proud by qualifying to the group stages and urged Ghanaians to continue supporting the team in their Africa campaign.
” We are very more confident that the team, under the expert guidance of coach C.K Akunnor, will make the nation proud and clinch the ultimate.
” We urge all Ghanaians to back the Porcupine Warriors as they strive to lift the flag of Ghana high.
