PHOTOS: Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang Xmas gala launched in Agogo

Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang community football gala has been officially launched at the Dollars Days Inn at Agogo in the Asante Akyem North district of the Ashanti Region.

The event scheduled for December 24-29, 2019 will be held at the famous Russia Park in Agogo with twelve communities to compete for the giant trophy.

The participating clubs are; Domeabra FC, Juansa FC, Amantenaman Select Side, Hwidiem FC, Agogo Newtown FC, Agogo Sukuumu FC, Agogo Ahenebronum Select Side, Obuasi Select Side, Gyedim Select Side, Bontoduase Select Side, Zongo FC and Russia FC.

The best selected team from the tournament will play Ghana Premier League outfit Dreams FC on January 1, 2019 at the Russia Park.

The community gala is a project aimed at developing and promoting football talents in the Asante Akyem North district, and would also allow local fans to experience the fun aspect of the game during this yuletide.

Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku and other dignitaries in the football circles will also be in attendance to grace the event.

At a brief but colourful launching
ceremony, the rules and regulations for the tournament were spelt out and each of the twelve communities were presented with customized set of jerseys and footballs.

The twelve clubs were given GH¢ 200 each as appearance fee from Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, who is the main sponsor for the tournament.

He also unveiled a giant trophy for the event and indicated that, the winning team will keep the trophy and a cash prize of £200 as well as gold medals.

The runner up will pocket £100 and silver medals for each player.

Kyfilla.com understands, in the event of a tied score after regulation, penalty shoot-outs will be used to determine which team is awarded the victory.
