The Upper Dixcove Traditional Council has launched this year’s Kundum Festival, which was last celebrated 21 years ago due to some customary issues that needed to be resolved.
The launching ceremony chaired by the Omanhene of Wassa Amenfi, Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II which amidst jubilation by the people of Upper Dixcove was under the theme “Developing Dixcove through festival”.
Tetrete urged the people of the traditional area to use the festival to preach peace among themselves and also entreats both Upper and Lower Dixcove to come together to celebrate the festival in the next subsequent years.
The Omanhene of Upper Dixcove Traditional area, Obrempong Nana Hima Dekyi XIV also assured his subjects that the festival would be used as a stepping stone to develop the entire community.
He also entreats the people in the town to help make the celebration of the festival a historic one.
The function was attended by the academia, traditional rulers from other paramount areas as well as people from various parts of the region.
