Kumasi Asante Kotoko current defenders Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, Abdul Ishmael Ganiyu and to an extent, Wahab Adams have been advised by former skipper of the club, Joseph Hendricks ahead of Nkana FC clash on Sunday.
It will be recalled that , two defensive blunders caused Asante Kotoko thier heavy 3:1 defeat at hands of boggy Nkana FC at the Nkana Stadium in Kitwe last Sunday.
The scoreline which marks the heaviest defeat the Porcupines have suffered in their Africa campaign this season has in a way slimmed the team’s chances of making it to quarter-final stage of the competition.
Sharing his opinion on what the club should do during their match-four encounter against the Kitwe based side on Sunday, Hendricks who once upon a time, captained the Porcupines to the final of the maiden edition of the competition in 2005 has advised the centre backs of the club especially the duo, Emmanuel Agyemang and Abdul Ishmael Ganiyu not to repeat those petty mistakes they displayed in Zambia but rather remain focused throughout the entire minutes of the cagey encounter should they want to win .
” The two centre backs shouldn’t repeat those unfortunate mistakes again if they only want to win the game and qualify the team to the next stage”, he said.
” Playing for Kotoko as a center back is like driving a VIP bus, there is no room for mistakes, you need to stay concentrated for the entire duration.
