A police officer whose identity is still not yet known has killed a hawker in Takoradi of the Western Region on Monday, April 5, 2021.
According to reports, the unpleasant incident occurred on the Kansaworado-Anaji highway in Takoradi when the police officer was pursuing a recalcitrant driver.
An eyewitness explained to Connect FM’s Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson that, the police officer with a private car was chasing a tanker that had allegedly jumped a traffic[ads4]
The eyewitness said the vehicle of the police officer lost control in the process and smashed a little girl who was hawking on the road, killing her instantly.
“The badly mutilated body of the victim is lying on the scene while the police man in question has been rusted to hospital. The burnt car is yet to be towed away”, the eyewitness added.
Meanwhile, the driver who was being pursued by the police officer has reportedly bolted.
