Ten people have been reported dead after a galamsey pit collapsed on them on the night of Wednesday, November 24, 2021.
The unfortunate incident is reported to have occurred at Wassa Esikuma in the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality in the Western Region.[ads2]
According to reporters, seven others were severally injured and have been rushed to the Apinto Government Hospital in Tarkwa for medical treatment whilst the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at a morgue in Tarkwa by the rescue team made up of officials from NADMO, Police and the other security agencies.
