Accra-based Radio Gold has resumed a partial operation after its license was revoked in 2019.
The station has begun the partial operation based on the directives of the National Communications Authority (NCA).
According to the station, the operation is to enable NCA to run some field test on the station’s frequency.
“We are currently #OnAir to enable the regulator carry out field tests. This is not a typical test transmission. Thanks for the support,” A post on the station’s Facebook page reads.
This comes after the NCA restored the operating license of Radio Gold and 132 other stations in October last year.
The NCA in a statement said the stations included those whose licenses were revoked after an audit in 2017.
The licenses of the radio stations and others were revoked over their refusal to pay operating license fees.
