Referees Association of Ghana ( Western Region) have elected new executives to steer the affairs of the association for the subsequent years.
Veteran referee Emmanuel Alhassan was elected as the chairman of the association beating competition from Emurana Salifu. He accumulated a total of seven votes whilst his competitor had 3.
The Vice-Presidential role which was keenly contested saw referee Tetteh Obayo beating his colleague Nana Akorliga Kwoffie for the seat with 8 votes as against 2.
Jasper Adenyo occupied the secretarial role with 6 votes as against Joseph Ayambila’s 4. Prosper Acquah assumed the deputy role.
The Technical Instructor position went to referee George Vormawah with Joseph Kwame Assan as his deputy.
James Taylor will now be the Fitness Instructor with Mr. Opoku Tuffour as the deputy whilst Mr. Ben Sefa will be the treasurer.
Speaking after the election, newly elected chairman of the Western region’s Referees Association, Mr. Emmanuel Alhassan hinted on his readiness to help referees to regain their lost image after it was tainted by the Anas expose video which captured dossen of referees involving in scandalous behaviors.
