The holy month of Ramadan started on 3rd April, 2022 after the moon of Ramadan was sighted in Ghana.
In his bid to support the Muslims in his constituency during the ongoing fast, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sekondi and a Deputy Energy Minister, Hon. Andrew Mercer, donated some items to the Muslim communities within the constituency.
A team led by the Constituency Chairman, Percy Morgue Ansah, donated items that included 120 bags of rice, 70 bags of sugar and many other items to the Muslim communities.
In a speech read on behalf of Hon. Mercer at a short ceremony organized on Friday 15th April, 2022 at Sekondi Zongo, Chairman Percy thanked all Muslims for being faithful to Allah.
He said that this year’s prayer is for unity, peace and love for the Zongo communities across the country. He prayed for Allah to guide them against challenges they may face during their fasting.
Alhaji Labib, the Regional Nasara Coordinator for NPP, received the items and expressed gratitude to the MP on behalf of the Islamic communities in Sekondi for his usual kind gesture and unending benevolence.
The Western Regional Kotokoli Chief, Alhaji Awal, used the occasion to ask for Allah’s guidance and blessings for the MP.
