In a statement made public by Real Tamale United on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, it was stated that an unidentified attacker had compromised their official account.
The following are the statements:
Real Tamale United (RTU) Football Club hereby wishes to notify the general public as well as its cherished fans and acquaintances of the hacking of the club’s official Facebook account with the username Real Tamale United FC (RTU).
We also wish to advise the public to be vigilant and avoid any form of communication with the account for the time being.
Please note that, pending when the account is recovered, We wish to clarify that, Management has no access or control over the activities on the said account. Consequently, we would not be held responsible for any losses or unscrupulous actions that may be traced to the account.
While efforts are currently ongoing to retrieve the account, we crave your indulgence in flagging the account by reporting it to Facebook as part of efforts to get it suspended and the hacker(s) dispossessed of it.
Thank you for your expected cooperation and attention to this sensitive matter.
