Philip Kwabena Agyemang Appiah-Kubi popularly known as Roman Fada has been disqualified from the 2024 presidential election.
He was to replace Akua Donkor, the presidential candidate of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) who died recently.
According to sources, he is not qualified to be a presidential candidate, though electoral commission gave a vivid reasons why the popularly broadcaster was disqualified.
The EC said that, there was some illegalities on the forms he filled to become the parties flag bearer.
The EC gave him another opportunity to correct the illegalities and submit the forms but repeated the illegalities again.
One common illegality he perpetuated was that, a space that should be filled and signed by different party members in various electoral area was signed by one person.
He was also given some days to submit the necessary documents but couldn’t also meet the deadline thus ten days.
Other internal conflict also contributed to the disqualification.
After Akua Donkor’s death, there were multiple accounts of skirmishes from the deceased family not willing to support the incumbent running mate, Roman Father.
Roan Father will need support, thus financially and actively from the family members but it seems the family are not interested to support the running mate to succeed the late flag bearer.
This instances is also one main factor Roman Father was disqualified by the electoral commission.
The printing of presidential ballot papers will now proceed without any changes during 7th December Presidential elections.
