Callers, mainly from the Sekondi, Fijai, Essikado and other neighbouring communities attested to the effect the delay in completing works on the road has had on their health, transportation cost, and cost of maintenance for their vehicles.
They however want the contract with the construction firm; Asabea Engineering Works, abrogated and re-awarded to an entirely new firm.
The 1.5 kilometer road project ; a dual carriage asphalting with concrete U-drains, begun in 2014, and was expected to be completed before the 2016 electioneering period.
Currently, the construction firm is by “our” estimation 45 percent done with the project. This entails the development of the sub-base of the exit lane off the Takoradi – Cape Coast highway, and some drains constructed along both lanes.
