Your leading web portal in the Western region, Kyfilla.com earlier published an article concerning the just ended 2019 National Cross Country race competition which was held in Mpohor on Saturday February 9.
The aftermath of the competition were rumours that the Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports and Member of Parliament for Mpohor, Honorable Alex Agyekum influenced Sports Ministry and National Sports Authority’s decision in choosing the venue for the competition.
Just after management of Kyfilla.com were enquiring on the issue, the Director for Monitoring, Evaluation and Research, Mr. Kwame Baah came out and stated vehemently that, the Honorable Member of Parliament had no hand in choosing Mpohor as the venue for the competition and even went ahead to state that, Hon. Alex Agyekum contributed nothing to the athletes not even a ‘water bottle’
However, after careful thought, Mr. Baah believes he went overboard since the Honorable Member of Parliament contributes in all angles to the development of sports in the country and therefore want to use this noble platform to apologize to him, the Sports Ministry, National Sports Authority for his earlier comment which was a bizarre.
The National Sports Authority shall continue to live its mandate to manage, develop and promote sports in Ghana.
