Veteran Ghanaian highlife musician Rex Omar has won his court case against Joy Industries Limited.
Mr. Rex Omar was declared the winner by the Koforidua High Court, with damages of GH¢200,000 and costs of GH¢30,000 awarded to him.

The famous highlife vocalist sued Joy Industries Limited for using a portion of his song “Da da di da” in their Joy Dadi Bitters adverts without his permission and in a breach of his copyright.

Rex Omar sued the company on June 15, 2015 for using his song for their product without his authorization saying it thus infringes on his copyrights.
