President of African Rugby, Herbert Mensah has taken a front role in dealing with dangers that are associated with children on Friday, June 16, the “Day of the African Child”.
The Rugby Africa has taken the celebration of this year’s “Day of the African Child” to a new height by facing unscrupulous acts against children head-on and making sure everyone understands the need.
Herbert Mensah stated that “there’s nothing that gives me a greater joy in recognising this great and significant day. We see young children playing more and more, and there is nothing that gives me greater pleasure than a young kid on the beach.
We have seen them with football, and now we are seeing them with little rugby ball”.
In a sharp determination to combat the menace of harmful practices against children the Rugby African team has highlighted this year’s celebration of the Day of the African Child with the theme “eliminating harmful practices affecting children”.
As powerful as the theme sounds, the President has gone ahead of just setting up a legislation to combat it by making everyone “recognize and improve things and highlighting it until everything stops”.
Mr Herbert Mensah takes responsibility and asserts that despite the menace occurring everywhere – “my job is not to deal with everywhere, but to deal with it on this truly beautiful continent, that he’s from”
