Residents of Sekondi have been thrown into a state of mourning as a young guy in his late twenties has reportedly drowned at sea in Sekondi of the Western region on Wednesday afternoon.
According to eyewitness, the young guy whose identity is yet not known drowned at sea at the famous Sekondi ‘Gate Ekyir’ whilst playing football with friends.
The eyewitness told Kyfilla.com that, “he was playing football with his friends at this small park at ‘Gate Ekyir’ when it was raining this afternoon. The ball galloped into the sea and he decided to go and fetch it.
“His friends waited and waited for him but he didn’t come so they also decided to go and fetch him only for them to see that he was drowning. They decided to go and help him out but when they were bringing him ashore they felt tired, screamed for help but to no avail and they decided to left him since they also started drowning when they felt tired. That’s what happened”, the eyewitness concluded.
