With Kwesi Appiah yet to name Black Stars squad for the 2019 African Cup of Nations which will be stage in Egypt in June this year, Kyfilla.com reminds the head coach, a certain Samuel Inkoom who is playing regularly for Bulgaria top flight side Dunav Ruse.
Perhaps, one of the most reliable and experience right back that Ghana can boast of ahead of the 32nd edition of the Total sponsored prestigious tournament on the African continent, Samuel Inkoom must be extended an invitation should President Akufo-Addo wants to have a feel of the AFCON trophy during his term.
The AFCON trophy has eluded Ghana for the past 37 years and the country is determined to bring the trophy to Accra in July this year. Experience at the right back position would be of a great help to the Black Stars and Kyfilla.com believes Samuel Inkoom is the right choice for the AFCON.
Andy Yiadom is probably a first choice for coach Kwesi Appiah at the right back role for the AFCON but having Inkoom at the bench alone for the AFCON gives the head coach squad in-depth.
Samuel Inkoom had a rough time in his footballing career which saw him out of the Black Stars for awhile now but his unimaginable form in the Bulgarian league this season alone merit him a return to the Black Stars.
From Kumasi Asante Kotoko to FC Basel in 2009 under the tutulage of coach Bashir Hayford, Samuel Inkoom had played in eight countries namely Ukraine, Turkey, France, Switzerland, Greece, USA, Portugal and currently in Bulgaria.
Samuel Inkoom has been an integral member of the three World Cups he had appeared for Ghana (Under 20 in 2009 and Black Stars in 2010, 2014), winning the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup and also clinching a silver medal for the Black Stars in the 2010 AFCON.
He has capped 46 matches for the Black Stars since his maiden debut in 2008, scoring three goals as a right back.
His experience with the Black Stars and his current form in the Bulgarian league merit him a cut in the final Black Stars squad for the AFCON 2019.
