The second edition of the Ahanta West Municipal Football Association’s Under-13 gala has officially been slated for April 20, 2019 at the Ahanta Aboadi Community Park.
The one-day competition with ROAA Cooperative Credit Union as it headline sponsor would witness sixteen clubs within the municipality battling it out for the ultimate.
Mr. Dadzie Gravity who is the Chairman for the Ahanta West Municipal Football Association, the main organizers, has disclosed that, the competition which is under the theme “Develop boots and books in Ahanta West Municipality” is aim at unearthing football talents within the municipality with scouts from Ghana Premier League side West African Football Academy (WAFA) to be present for player hunting.
He however noted that, the overall champions of the competition will take home a sum of Five hundred Ghana Cedis plus a set of jersey and a metre ball whilst the first runners up will pocket three hundred Ghana Cedis plus a metre ball with the second runners up to grab two hundred Ghana Cedis plus a metre ball.
He continued that, former Ahantaman Rural Bank boss, Mr. Mensah Stephens has promised fifty exercise books to reward the best goalkeeper and the most valuable player of the competition as well as the overall topscorer.
Other individuals supporting the competition include former NPP Chairman of the Ahanta West Constituency, Mr. Jonathan Ayepa, who has donated four metre balls and a set of jersey.
To grace the competition is the Chief of Ahanta Aboadi Community, Nana Etsin Kofi VI alongside Member of Parliament for Ahanta Aboadi, Honorable Ebenezer Kojo Kum and Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Mary Henrietta Eyison.
Other invited guests include; the Western regional Football Association Vice Chairman, Jamkay, the Board Chairman of the headline sponsor ROAACCU, Mr. Rexford Norvieku-Tekpetey, Mr. Dadzie Gravity who is the Ahanta West Municipal Football Association Chairman, Mr. Isaac Simons, Takoradi Referees Association Chairman among others.
