Management of the 1960 Ghana Premier League Champions, Sekondi Eleven Wise have revealed a programme line up to celebrate their centenary anniversary.
The Monkeys will be hundred years on April 9, 2019 and have outlined a week programme to commemorate the anniversary aimed at reviving the club to it glorious states.
Management of Sekondi Eleven Wise will begin the anniversary with a visit to the Sekondi Central Mosque on 5th April, 2019 for prayers to ask for Allah’s blessings and a successful celebration of the anniversary.
There would be a float on April 6, 2019, starting from Essikado to create awareness of the anniversary then the main program on April 9, where it will be held at the Assemblies of God Church at European Town in Sekondi.
On April 9, an awards ceremony would be held to honour the overall best player and all past chairmen of the club and other individuals who have contributed to the success of the club.
On Sunday, 14th April, 2019 and the last day, there would be an anniversary cup match which is likely to be against their arch-rivals Sekondi Hasaacas at the Sekondi Gyendu Park to grace the whole occasion.
The Planning Committee for the anniversary headed by Ambassador Joseph Ackon, a retired diplomat have been mandated to capitalize on the anniversary to qualify the team back to the Ghana Premier League.
The Western Show Boys were relegated from the Ghana Premier League in 2008 and are currently lodging at the Division Two, hoping to secure a qualification to the Division One and probably the top-flight Ghana football.
