The Youth and Sports Minister, Honorable Isaac Kwame Asiamah has assured that the Sekondi Sports Stadium will undergo a massive facelift soon.
The structure was built under the regime of former President, John Agyekum Kuffour in 2007 to co-host the 2008 AFCON in Ghana.
The stadium is yet to undergo any major renovation works since 2007, which has left it in a dilapidated state, with the roofing falling apart on each and every blessed day.
Speaking during an inspection tour at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on last Friday, to pave way for renovation works to begin at the 15,000 capacity seater, honorable Isaac Kwame Asiamah, mentioned that procurement processes are underway for a massive renovation works to begin at both the Baba Yara and Sekondi Sports Stadium before long.
Kyfilla.com understands, already renovation works have begun at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium and both Baba Yara and Sekondi Sports Stadium will undergo a major facelifts before the 2023 All African Games which, will be hosted in Ghana.
Meanwhile, the Western regional branch of the National Sports Authority have commenced a minor renovation exercise at the Sekondi Sports Stadium, such as painting of the walls, fixing the washroom pipes among others.
