Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Professor Peter Twumasi has promised to renovate the deteriorating Sekondi Sports Stadium, Esippong.
The Sekondi Sports Stadium built under the regime of former president, John Agyekum Kuffour to co-host the 2008 African Cup of Nations hosted in Ghana has not seen any renovation works after the tournament which is eleven years ago.
Speaking to pressmen during his unannounced inspection tour at the stadium, Professor Twumasi stated that the Stadium which is currently in atrocious states will surely be renovated in no time soon.
“The stadium would be renovated”, he promised.
” I have heard about the state of the stadium and I decided to pass through and inspect it myself and I know the minister has also gotten reports from it. It will surely be renovated.
Before arriving at Sekondi, Professor Twumasi inspected the facilities for the upcoming National Sports Authority cross country race which will be stage in Mpohor from Thursday February 7 to Saturday February 9.
