Sekondi XI Wise FC has dissolved its Management and Technical Team effective February 3, 2025, at 12 noon. The decision, taken under the directive of the club’s Patron, Nana Professor Kobina Nketsia, and the Chairman and CEO, Dr. Kobina Spio-Garbrah, aims to restructure the team following disappointing performances this season.
In a statement released by the club’s spokesperson, Mr. Joseph Adjei, all current management and technical team members are to continue their respective duties temporarily while awaiting reassignment, disengagement, or other directives. Players have been instructed to remain committed to their roles as the leadership team undergoes reconstitution.
The drastic move follows what the statement described as “woeful performance” after 15 Division 1 games, significant financial losses, and negative returns to investors. Despite substantial investment, the club has failed to achieve the desired results, prompting the need for a “leaner, more focused, financially strategic, and success-driven” team.
Dr. Spio-Garbrah is expected to reconstitute a new management and technical team within seven days after critical consultations. The club remains resolute in its goal of winning the FA Cup and gaining promotion to the Ghana Premier League, despite the challenges faced this season.
Sekondi XI Wise FC, Ghana’s second-oldest registered football club, hopes that this bold step will reposition the team for long-term success and sustainable growth. Further updates are expected as the restructuring process unfolds.
