Shama: District Assembly to rehabilitate and expand water supply systems to Aboadze –Abuesi
Water they say is the source of life. But this priceless commodity has been scarce in some parts of the country. The Abuesi and Aboadze communities in the Shama District, have been experiencing this crisis for some years now due to the poor nature of their water supply system.

The main water-bourne pipes were laid in some forty years ago and as a result are unfit for the growing demand by residents.
It was alleged however, that a ceramic production company Twyford Limited, had been manipulating the supply of water to the communities by tapping into the mains to their company.
In a press briefing by the District Chief Executive for Shama, Joseph Amoah disputed the allegation. He noted however that the assembly as part of their response strategy would be engaging companies in the area to improve water supply to communities including Aboadze and Abuesi.
“As part of the plan is the possibility of engaging the companies within the enclave to assist in this regard”, he noted.
This intervention is expected to kick off soon after the necessary commitments have been made by the companies so that the Ghana Water Company Limited could begin the expansion works.
