Shilla Illiasu, former Black Stars defender has now entered into farming chopping some huge success in his new found trade.
Successful sports celebrities normally live a flashy lifestyle even after their career. Usually, some invest their monies in businesses like real estate, hotels, schools, transport among others.

But few like former Asante Kotoko, King Faisal and Black Stars defender Shilla Illiasu Alhassan have defied the odds to engage in other ‘local’ businesses like farming.
From Tamale in the Northern Region, Shilla Illiasu Alhassan commutes a two-hour journey to his farm located at the outskirts of Tamale.
Having played for King Faisal and Asante Kotoko, Shilla Illiasu Alhassan was a huge figure in the Ghana Premier League then.

He had the chance to undergo trials at Arsenal and Blackburn Rovers in England following his impressive performance at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.
He then decided to join Russian side FC Saturn in 2006 and played for them till 2008 before joining Real Tamale United in 2010.

Many thought after football, the 37-year old Shilla Illiasu Alhassan would engage in other ‘top class’ businesses. Though he is into real estate and transport, the former Real Republicans defender is also a tycoon in farming.

He currently owns a 27 acres of farm and now into rice and maize cultivation in Tamale.
Speaking to TV3’s Nana Akua Amankwah, Shilla Illiasu Alhassan revealed that he was inspired by friends to engage in farming and since then has not looked back.
