Interim Management Committee Chairman for Sekondi Hasaacas Football Club, Samuel Arbuah Essoun popularly known as “P Kay” has made a stunning revelation that he does not remember the last time he paid the head coach of the team.
According to the Chairman, the head coach Joe Agyemang Jnr has not receive a salary since last year due to financial crisis the 1931 team is facing.
Speaking to Kwame Yeboah, host of ‘Kick Off Morning’ Sports on Sekondi based Radio Silver, the interim committee chairman, Samuel Arbuah Essoun commented that the club is under huge financial burden and will appeal to corporate bodies to come to their aid.
“Am the sole sponsor for the club and you can just imagine. The club is under huge financial problem and the club is currently under life support but am trying my best to sustain the club so that we will not be relegated.
“I personally don’t remember the last time I paid him [head coach Joe Agyemang].But I can say since last year up till now he has received nothing from me. He don’t even have an assistant coach meanwhile he will talk to the boys to play well for the team because Hasaacas is a big club but the supporters won’t understand, they will come to the stadium and throw insults at the coach without knowing whether he has eaten or not”.
Meanwhile, Sekondi Hasaacas are currently languishing at the 12th position on the Division One [Zone Two] League log with 13 points after 11 matches played.
