Coach Charles Kwabla Akunnor seems to have hinted on his line up for Asante Kotoko’s upcoming game against Cameroonian side Coton Sports in the final qualifying stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Asante Kotoko were held to a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes by regional rivals Ashantigold SC in the John Agyekum Kuffour Foundation Cup yesterday and there have been a lot of talks regarding a purported backlash between goalkeeper Felix Annan and forward Sogne Yacouba after the game.
Head coach of the Porcupine Warriors, Charles Kwabla Akunnor has confirmed that the issue has reached him and he’s going to solve that since it’s his responsibility and he’s not letting this situation come between the team’s preparation for the double header against Coton Sports.
“As the head of the technical team, I heard of the issue between Felix and Yacouba, its one of those things, we will take it up and make sure we settle the case. I wasn’t there but have heard it.
“Should we get the two to exchange hands, that will be it, its part of our job when the tempers are high. But we will not allow this mar our preparations ahead of the crucial match against Coton Sports.
However, he added that he had a chat with Sogne Yacouba to tune his mind up for the game against Coton Sports on Sunday, January 13 away at Cameroon.
“The match is very crucial and we need to keep our focus for Sunday’s match. Yacouba is not a headache for me, not at all. I believe he thought otherwise on the field thinking he would have done better with the ball.
“I have spoken to Yacouba that he is my marksman for the match at Cameroon. I have asked him to tune his mind he will lead the attack in Cameroon.
“He[Yacouba] is a fine player and only needs to be talked to which i have done” – Coach C. K. Akunnor on Oyerepa FM
