Minister for Youth and Sports, Honorable Isaac Asiamah and his deputy Perry Curtis Okudzeto inspected works on the Kaneshie Sports Complex also known as the Azumah Nelson Youth and Sports Resource Center in Accra.
The stadium which was originally built during the era of the Supreme Military Council under the General Acheampong in the 1970s was used mostly for football matches, on club level by Accra Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics in the Ghana Premier League whilst the Accra Sports Stadium (then Ohene Djan Stadium) was being re-built in 2007.
The hard-working minister together with his deputy visited the site to inspect the progression of the construction works of the stadium.
Kyfilla.com understands, the new facility would be expanded to 5,000 seating capacity with a FIFA standard pitch with a tartan tracks, multi-purpose sports courts, a plush hostel facility, ICT/ Counselling centres, a restaurant and other offices.
