The Youth and Sports Minister, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah has rewarded former Black Stars team doctor, Kwabena Oboe Quansah a cheque of GHC 39,500.
Dr. Kwabena Oboe Quansah was the medical doctor for the Black Stars during the 1965 AFCON where Ghana eventually won the trophy for the second time after beating Tunisia by 2:3 in the finals.
He was handed the cheque on Wednesday at the office of the minister after it emerged that, he was left out when the government was rewarding the team for the AFCON triumph.
The astute medical doctor, aside his accomplished medical duties, served on the FA Technical Committee in 1978 when Ghana hosted the AFCON.
He was also a football administrator and served as a Ghana Football Association Vice Chairman during the Lawton Ackah-Yensu era in 1983-1984.
