The minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif has paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in Kumasi on Friday, September 17, 2021.
The Minister was on a working visit to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region where he paid the call on the overlord of the Asante Kingdom.[ads2]
Mr. Ussif was accompanied to the Manhyia Palace by the Director-General of National Sports Authority, Prof Peter Twumasi.
He seeked blessings from Otumfuo who asked him to continue serving the country diligently without fear or favor.[ads3]
The Minister was in Kumasi to inspect the progress of work at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The stadium has been shut for almost a year to page way for renovation works to be done.[ads4]
The closure of the stadium saw clubs like Asante Kotoko and King Faisal playing their league matches home away from home.
And with the renovation works almost done, the two clubs are expected to make a return to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium hopefully next season.[ads5]
