The Minister of Youth and Sports, Honorable Isaac Asiamah has presented a cheque of 792,097.50 Ghana Cedis equivalent to 150,000 dollars to Asante Kotoko after their 2:1 victory yesterday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
This was in fulfilment of the ministry’s promise to support the club after making it to the group stages of the ongoing CAF Confederation Cup.
Honorable Isaac Asiamah presented the cheque to the management of the Porcupines after thumping Zambian opponent Zesco United 2:1 yesterday.
After the presentation, the honorable minister congratulated the playing body, technical bench, management and supporters of the club for the sounding victory.
He however continued that he is impressed with the commitment of the Porcupine Warriors for bringing joy and happiness and of course football back into the country and also expressed his profound gratitude to the supporters for their unwavering support to the club and urged them to continue in their subsequent matches.
Asante Kotoko, the only Ghanaian representative in the ongoing CAF inter-club competition after their victory yesterday are third in the group with three points and will play Nkana FC in their next game in Zambia.
