The Youth and Sports Minister, Hon Isaac Kwame Asiamah has wished the Black Queens well ahead of their game against Senegal this evening.
The Black Queens begin their title defense hunt today as they face off counterpart from Senegal in the opening game of the competition.
According to the minister, the team must replicate their last year’s form to enable them defend the competition to cement their status as a powerhouse of women football on the continent.
” On behalf of Government and the people of Ghana i wish the Senior Women’s Soccer team, the Black Queens the best of performance in the WAFU Zone B tournament that commences today in Ivory Coast.
“I am very confident in the ability of the technical team and the playing body and therefore urge the team to replicate the last year’s showing, defend the trophy and cement their status as a powerhouse of women football on the continent.
Meanwhile, Ghana after the Senegal game today will come face-to-face against Togo and Ivory Coast in the next group matches.
