The search for a mascot and a logo for the 2023 African Games to be held in Ghana has begun as the Youth and Sports Ministry alongside the African Games Project Team have successfully launched the mascot and logo contest.
Ghana, about months ago, was confirmed by the Executive Council of the African Union to host the 2023 African Games.
The West African country has already selected two cities namely Accra and Kumasi to host the 13th edition of the event scheduled for 2023.
But as part of preparations towards the upcoming competition, the Youth and Sports Ministry in collaboration with the African Games Project Team have launched the quest for a logo and a mascot for the competition.
According to the Youth and Sports Ministry, the logo and the mascot must use “parts of our heritage, our traditional/cultural symbols and flora, as well as fauna to epitomise our collective dreams and aspirations as a people, first as Ghanaians (HOST NATION) and then as Africans”.

Interested participants for the contest must be a Ghanaian and will have to provide their full name, proof of identity such as national ID (Ghana Card) or passport, and email addresses, as well as phone numbers.
