The Youth and Sports Ministry have released funds to cater for the air tickets of all the foreign-based players expected to join the Black Meteors team for the Africa U23 Championship in Egypt.
The Black Meteors of Ghana have begun preparations for the upcoming tournament slated to commence on November 8 and end at November 22, 2019.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko has already begun preparations for the tournament with eighteen locally-based players currently in camp, with some foreign based players expected to join the team in Accra.
However, the Black Meteors media officer, Micheal Tuffour has indicated that, the Sports Ministry have made funds available for the team’ foreign based players expected to fly down to Ghana to continue with the preparations for the upcoming tournament.

” The Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Youth and Sports is fully committed to ensuring that the Black Meteors qualify for the Tokyo Olympic Games. As a result, money has been made available to cater for the air tickets of all foreign based players expected to join the team.
“Through out the qualifications series: from Togo, to Gabon, to Algeria, government has fully backed the team and have not spared any expense aimed at helping them to achieve their aim.

” All the needed arrangements have been made by the Ministry and all foreign based players who have been invited to join the training camp will soon fly to Ghana to continue preparations for next month’s U23 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
” The Black Meteors team, have the full support of the youth and sports minister, Isaac Asiamah as he wants the U23 side to make it to the Olympic Games for the first time since 2004.
